Bartica Community Centre ground urgently needs upgrading

Dear Editor,

We have an obligation to the youths to fulfil their dreams and aspirations, but how can we do it when the executive of the Bartica Football Association (BFA) and Guyana Football Federation (GFF) believe football is a talk show or a soap opera. It is action. We must have the facilities and take care of these properly if we are going to reach the next level. Some people only want power to say I am in this or I am in that organization. What impact or contribution have they made towards the people in that organization? Let’s stop bickering and start working together. So let’s have the green spaces for the youths to play their various sports and stop treating them in a mediocre fashion. The Bartica Community Centre ground urgently needs upgrading to the standards promised. Imagine you have to pay $6000 per hour to use the floodlights. How can you develop sport?

Only last week myself and four under 17 teams were turned down from using the Bartica Secondary School ground. I am kindly asking for the GFF, the Director of Sport and the relevant authorities to intervene.

Yours faithfully,

Mark Caesar

President
