Dear Editor,
We wish to draw attention to developments in the matter engaging the courts involving Region 9 Regional Executive Officer, Mr Carl Parker, who has been charged with sexual assault. Based on reports from members of the community and the Regional Chairman Mr Allicock, via MTV nightly news, Mr Parker is still on the job.
As far as we understand, when a public servant is charged and placed before the courts he or she is interdicted from duty. If Mr Parker is still on duty as reported, why?
We call on the Minister of Social Protection, the Minister of Communities and all authorities responsible for Mr Parker being in office to take immediate action to interdict him from public office.
