Is the government aware that online shopping, promoting and facilitating online shopping are providing a rapid conduit for the suctioning of foreign currency out of the country?
How is the advancing of the sales inventories of other countries in Guyana’s best interest? Surely we should be concerned with promoting the sales inventories of local businesses. But instead of a buy-local slant, we see not only local ‘smarties,’ but also the Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPCC) getting into the act of depleting the scarce foreign currency of Guyana. There seems to be a frightening dearth of thinking in this country.
