Berbice and Georgetown/Mahaicony clash today in high profile semi-final

A high-profile semi-final between Georgetown/Mahaicony and Berbice in the Guyana Cricket Board/Demerara Mutual Life Assurance Society/Ministry Of Education/National Secondary Cricket School League will take place today from 09:30 hours at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground.

The Berbice side will include nine players who have represented the country in middle-order batsmen Kevlon Anderson and Garfield Benjamin, wicket-keeper Junior Sinclair, all-rounders Seon Glasgow (off spin) Leon Swammy and Geevon Shultz (right-arm fast bowlers) and left-arm orthodox spinners Kelvin Umroa, Nikeen Noble and Nigel Deodat.

The squad also includes off spinner Melvin Singh, this year’s Berbice Under-15 Inter County captain Marvan Prashad, sensational opening batsman Alex Algu, Antonio February, Dinanauth Persaud, Christopher Harry and Nicholas Heywood.

The Georgetown/Mahaicony Combined team will be led by West Indies Under-15 players Ashmead Nedd, Sachin Singh, and Qumar Torrington, national youth players Alphius Bookie, wicket Keeper/batsman Yeudister Persaud, and all-rounder Dwayne Dick (off spinner).

The rest of the squad will comprise  Adrian Hinds, fast bowler Dequan Bamfield, Juspice Jones (right arm leg spinners), Joel Spooner, Osapho Greene, Nkosi Beaton, Devon Allen and Ghamshan Premsham.

The winning team will take on Essequibo Combined at the GCC ground on Friday from 09:30 hours.
