The body of an unidentified man was yesterday discovered floating in the canal which separates Croal Street and South Road, Georgetown.
According to a police report, the police were summoned and arrived on the scene at about 1pm.
After the body of the man was removed from the canal, it was examined for marks of violence but none was found. The deceased was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital and the body is currently in the mortuary awaiting an autopsy.
