Moruca woman found dead at home

The police are investigating the death of a Moruca, Region One woman, whose body was found in her bedroom last Thursday.

The dead woman, Angelene Shelly Henry, 35, of Skyland Village, Moruca, was discovered at about 8 am by her mother, Anna Henry.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) in a statement, said the mother of the deceased woman was cleaning her home when she made the discovery.

According to the statement, Anna called out for her daughter and made checks to locate her but received no response.

It added that the mother later entered the dead woman’s room, where she found her motionless. She subsequently touched her and realised that she was not breathing.

The matter was reported to the Acquero Police Station, after which an officer visited the home of the deceased and examined the woman’s body. No marks of violence were seen.

The body was then taken to the Kumaka District Hospital where Angelene was pronounced dead on arrival.
