U.N. urges Venezuela’s Maduro to uphold rule of law

GENEVA,  (Reuters) – The United Nations today criticised President Nicolas Maduro’s government for curtailing the powers of the chief state prosecutor and called on it to uphold the rule of law and freedom of assembly in Venezuela amid a clampdown on protesters.

Iraq declares end of caliphate after capture of Mosul mosque

MOSUL/ERBIL, Iraq,  (Reuters) – After eight months of grinding urban warfare, Iraqi government troops on Thursday captured the ruined mosque at the heart of Islamic State’s de facto capital Mosul, and the prime minister declared the group’s self-styled caliphate at an end.

Baggage scanner being relocated to facilitate CJIA expansion
