Demerara inflict thrashing on President’s XI

Demerara rushed to the top of the table when they defeated the President’s XI team by 128 runs at the Everest Cricket Club ground on  day two of the Guyana Cricket Board four-team  Inter-County one day tournament.

The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GT&T) Berbice Inter-County cricket team was yesterday was spared the embarrasment of two consecutive losses before holding their nerve to thwart a valiant effort from Essequibo at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground on the second day of the Guyana Cricket Board competition.

Young Tagenarine Chanderpaul yesterday scored an unbeaten half century to guide the President’s XI to a six wicket victory over defending champions GT&T Berbice in a match of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Inter-County competition at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground in Queenstown.

Essequibo fall away after threatening to upset Demerara

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Inter County limited overs match between Demerara and Essequibo at the Everest Cricket Club ground saw Essequibo threatening to score the first upset of the competition before  convention had the final say and Demerara prevailed by five wickets.
