Timehri resident sentenced over weapon, ammo

Lorne Anthony Whinfield, a 35-year-old resident of Hyde Park, Timehri, East Bank Demerara was yesterday sentenced to two years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to two charges of ‘Unlawful Possession of a Firearm without License’ and ‘Unlawful Possession of Ammunition without License’.

UN warns Haiti’s capital blockaded, no aid for malnourished children

UNITED NATIONS/PORT-AU-PRINCE, 2 (Reuters) – Haiti’s capital is almost completely cut off by air, sea and land blockades as gang violence intensifies, stopping aid from getting to 58,000 children with the most life-threatening form of malnutrition, the head of the U.N.
