Dear Editor, After witnessing the debacle surrounding the appointment of the Georgetown Municipality Town Clerk under circumstances that undermine due process and procedures and which potentially perpetuate a culture of mediocrity in our country’s public offices and institutions, I feel compelled to write on one of the most compelling issues affecting all municipalities – solid waste management and disposal.

Dear Editor, The Private Sector Commission (PSC) in its most recent statement (December 20, 2013) on the Berbice Bridge Company Inc was unwilling to acknowledge writing the following on December 11: “As far as we are aware, the Government directly or indirectly has no investment in, or liability relating to, the [Berbice River] bridge at this time.”

Dear Editor, As I traversed the main public thoroughfare from Charity to Supenaam, I saw a contractor patching the road which has sunk, which has some potholes and where the approaches to bridges are uneven.

Dear Editor, In June 2012 I had several court matters involving the provisions of the Public Health Ordinance Chapter 145.

Dear Editor, I should like to pay personal homage to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr Derrick Josiah, whose station in life and journey in this world came to an end on Friday, December 13, 2013.

Dear Editor, I just cannot comprehend the illogicality taking place within the city administration.

Dear Editor, The bridging of the Berbice River is one of the most invaluable projects executed for and delivered to the people of Guyana.

Dear Editor, In ‘America is an immigrant society but is not tribalized’ (SN, Dec 17), Mr Mike Persaud makes statements that are not factual. 

Dear Editor,   When the US Embassy donated health supplies and sporting equipment to Guyanese, the Government of Guyana (GOG) gladly accepted them.

Dear Editor, I have noted that sections of the media have been carrying statements attributed to me in relation to the issue of natural resources extractive activities in the geographic area in south-eastern Guyana referred to as the New River Triangle.
