Letters to the Editor

DCC deserved its Guyana Cricket Board award

Dear Editor, With reference to the letter in last Thursday’s edition of the Stabroek News titled ‘There was a strange selection of awardees at the Guyana Cricket Board Awards Ceremony,‘ I write to set certain records straight and place within the public purview our response to what the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) considers to be an unwarranted and misguided commentary regarding the achievements of the club over the past year.

Capacity, contracts and secrecy

Dear Editor, When a United Nations report found last year that African Guyanese faced discrimination in the award of government contracts, the government rejected the report.

Grateful to Region 10 EAB observers

Dear Editor, Though the Electoral Assistance Bureau (EAB) has already thanked their observers/volunteers for coming on board and being part of their team and for displaying commitment and patriotism during our just concluded November 28 electoral exercise, I nonetheless would like to personally add my special bit of thanks to all the Region 10 observers, supervisors and the Assistant Coordinator.

A sign of what is to come?

Dear Editor, In a few days to Christmas Donald brought to us… suspension and investigation of Henry, charges against Kwame while Lumumba‘s fate is to be decided.

Things to do

Dear Editor, The majority of Guyanese, at home and abroad, as demonstrated by voters, looked forward to a change, and as the Manifesto of the Guyanese Youth Congress states, a new dispensation to allow for “Inclusiveness, Rebirth, Renewal, Reconciliation and Rebuilding” against a background of national unity.
