Dear Editor, As Guyanese are wont to say, some people “test your faith.” 

Dear Editor, A changing political culture is indeed with us. This new political culture is influencing our politicians to act and think differently so as to reach out to the population and their constituency.

Dear Editor, I am pleased to read (SN, Dec14) that AFC`s executive member Khemraj Ramjattan is reported as saying that his party is supportive of APNU`s call to have a tripartite budget committee, calling it a wonderful idea which would enhance transparency.

Dear Editor, Everall Franklin is no longer with us and I offer my condolences to his entire family.

Dear Editor, Now that the elections are over and life is getting back to normal, it is time for us to examine the way forward. 

Dear Editor, One of the reasons given for the recycled and reshuffled ministers in the present cabinet is that the President’s choice is limited to the PPP/C list of candidates.

Dear Editor, I refer to the headline in your newspaper on Tuesday, ‘Councillors favour 33% pay hike; 8% for workers.‘

Dear Editor, Heaven forbid, but the administration of cricket in Guyana at the national level cannot get any worse than it is at the moment.

Dear Editor, I am pleased to learn from three of your news stories (SN Dec 9, 11, 13) that a new airline service (EZ Jet) will debut at Timehri from this Friday morning with a daily service except for Wednesdays.

Dear Editor, While four-lane highways are built elsewhere, the road from Rose Hall Canje to Gangaram is being reduced.

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport has decided to scrap a fund-raising drive by its social committee for a Christmas party, after concerns were raised about letters soliciting donations sent to contractors used by the ministry.

Dear Editor, The editorial in the Sunday Stabroek of December 11 is a most troubling one for its attack on the APNU and its main constituent forces, the PNC and the WPA.

Dear Editor, Young Voices is an organization which offers young persons with disabilities (PWDS) in developing countries the opportunity to empower themselves and change the way disability is viewed. 

Dear Editor, APNU/PNC came in second for the fifth consecutive election in twenty years.

Dear Editor, In SN of Saturday, December 10, 2011, Ian McDonald came up with a curious bit of fact-finding, albeit in the ‘integrity’ of the election – a descriptor, so far as I recall, not found in any of the published sections of the reports by the observer teams.

Dear Editor, With reference to Mike Persaud’s letter (‘While the PPP/C won the presidency, they did not win the elections’ SN, December 12), my tabulation never mentioned anything about who won the government or otherwise (‘An interesting statistic’ SN, December 7). 

Dear Editor, I was in awe with regard to the organisation and competition in the just concluded four-day Diamond Mineral Water Indoor Hockey Tournament which concluded on Sunday 11, 2011 at the National Gymnasium.

Dear Editor, Now that the voting populace of Guyana has spoken, they would undoubtedly wish to see a return to normalcy in our country, so that the continuous and accelerated development to which we of the PPP/C committed in our 2011 election manifesto and to which decent and progressive Guyanese eagerly look forward, can begin to be realized.

Dear Editor, It is with a great measure of relief that I may properly describe Mr Charles Ramson as the outgone Minister of Legal Affairs. 

Dear Editor, The response of Stabroek News to Help & Shelter’s letter registering its dismay over Stag Beer ad campaign and calling for its immediate withdrawal raises some concerns.
