Letters to the Editor

The Elections Commissioner should not be a theatre critic

Dear Editor, In reference to the exchange of letters between Dr Steve Surujbally (SN, Feb 24) and Mr Ron Robinson (Sunday Stabroek, Feb 27), on the issue of the Link Show, I would just like to say that I agree completely with Mr Robinson’s point of view, and I cannot understand the position of the Elections Commissioner criticizing that show in any way.

When will the GFF shift the paradigm?

Dear Editor, In Austin Warner’s opening address at the CFU’s 34th Congress, he referred to the failures, “In spite of the training courses, programmes and seminars funded by the FIFA and the CONCACAF, in spite of the FIFA grants received (each of you received over $1.3 million dollars and still remain the whipping boys and girls of your teams the last four years).”

Open up the state owned media to all the opposition of credibility

Dear Editor, I would like to thank SN for the publication of my letters over the years and point out that SN remains as the bastion of press freedom in our country with a history of being fair and responsible in its approach to the political, cultural and economic spheres of our daily lives; newsprint has long been a source of vital information for the Guyanese public and SN should be proud of itself.

The problem facing Granger is winning crossover voters

Dear Editor, With regards to the front page story (SN Feb 27) on David Granger being narrowly chosen to lead the PNCR in the upcoming elections, I gave a lecture at the School of International Studies Jawaharlal Nehru University Feb 24 on Thursday morning (Wed evening Guyana time) on current political developments in Guyana and Trinidad.
