Dear Editor, I refer to the online article captioned, `US keeping eye on gold smuggling from Venezuela –Kozak’ (Demerara Waves, October 19). 

Dear Editor, The location of the gas-to-shore power plant should be conceptualized within a holistic framework of a new energy frontier where it should be coterminous with a deep water port, light and heavy manufacturing industries and an Export Processing Zone.

Dear Editor, This is a response to Al Creighton’s column in the September 20 Sunday Stabroek entitled `Indigenous heritage dramas rare but important’.

Dear Editor, The announcement on Monday, October 19, 2020 by the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Hon Anil Nandlall, that the government will consider the viability of industrial hemp cultivation (IHC), was greeted with exuberance by Hemp advocates in Guyana.

Dear Editor, Senior Lecturer at UG, Professor Thomas Singh, wanted clarification on the meaning of the “ethnic security dilemma (ESD)”  since the term has been frequently featured in the press recently (SN, Oct 17).

Dear Editor, The booming rhetoric from the opposite side about not making Guyanese refugees in their own country is worthy of note. 

Dear Editor, The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) is launching its Immortal Pencils campaign to raise awareness about the impunity that surrounds most crimes against journalists, and the lack of justice that encourages more violence, censorship, and self-censorship.

Dear Editor, The Coronavirus has spread throughout the country. Every day more infected persons are being identified and more deaths are recorded.

Dear Editor, Mr Baytoram Ramharack’s letter published in the Stabroek News, October 16, 2020 edition captioned, `Why did Granger gov’t not take steps to address security concerns of Africans’ was his response to a letter I wrote (SN 14.10.2020) acknowledging  Mr Ravi Dev’s reply to my earlier question on his position on the Indian Ethnic Security Dilemma now that the PPP/C has returned to office.

Dear Editor, I thank you for allowing me to use this medium, perhaps for the final time, to air this personal dilemma.

Dear Editor, As an old man and a citizen of Guyana in self-exile, I still feel that I ought to comment on certain tendencies in Guyanese society and its governance as they appear to me.

Dear Editor, My regard for Mr. Nigel Hinds went up several notches.

Dear Editor, Reference is made to the article titled, `Payara licence contains key environmental updates – Energy Dep’t, EPA started process, as few safeguards seen in Liza-1’ (SN October 18). 

Dear Editor, The recent actions of the Irfaan Ali administration have not gone unnoticed in light of the COVID-19 pandemic: the decision to end the rotation of public servants; encouraging citizens to meet in large numbers at events such as the Ministry of Housing and Water’s ‘Dream Realised, Housing outreach 2020’.

Dear Editor,  I am writing this letter in particular to the Government of Guyana, the Honourable Minister of Home Affairs and his Ministry, Law Enforcement Agencies, Security Firms, and weapon lovers on the dangers and risks of weapons if they are not properly used.

Dear Editor, The Guyana Women Miners Organisation (GWMO) and the National Mining Syndicate (NMS) welcome the Government’s efforts to support the mining sector through the provision of tax concessions on equipment and ATVs.
