Dear Editor,
I refer to a letter by Mr. Tacuma Ogunseye, published in your letter columns yesterday (June, 21st 2020), entitled `Can Mr Gaskin explain what constitutes a seriously rigged election’?
Dear Editor,
While there has been much attention to coastal flooding in the country, not much has been written about flooding in the Rupununi.
Dear Editor,
There appears to be a mistaken view that any decision by the Court of Appeal in the case brought by Eslyn David seeking to stop the declaration of the results of the March 2 elections is unappealable.
Dear Editor,
As a Guyanese American citizen, I take umbrage at the fact that Mr Bart S Fisher of JJ&B would lend his firm’s name and reputation to cover up what can aptly be described as a political coup.
Dear Editor,
“Bart S. Fisher is a partner in JJ&B, which represents the APNU+AFC Coalition” this is the disclaimer on an Op-ed in the Washington Examiner written by the high priced lobbyist hired by Joseph Harmon to influence the American government to disregard Guyana’s elections results.
Dear Editor,
After appearing to welcome the few CARICOM election scrutineers able to be mustered for a vote recount caused by GECOM Returning Officer Mingo’s failure to perform his duties, APNU+AFC and its apologists have resorted to trying to discredit the CARICOM observer report by claiming the scrutineers only experienced 18% of the recount.
Dear Editor,
I write to pay tribute to Arjune Karshan, longtime political activist who led the Association of Concerned Guyanese (ACG), NY branch, that is affiliated with the PPP, for many years.
Dear Editor,
Congratulations ABC
EU/Caricom/OAS for ensuring democracy is upheld in Guyana.
Dear Editor,
Our children remain vulnerable to child sexual abuse. More so, in the face of this global pandemic.
Dear Editor,
Fellow Guyanese, brothers and sisters and friends of Guyana, do all that you can to turn away from violence in any form – verbal abuse or physical harm.
Dear Editor,
If you want to predict the growth and development of a country, just look at its institutions.
Dear Editor,
Mr Dominic Gaskin, executive member of the Alliance for Change (AFC) and former minister of the APNU+AFC coalition government, has distinguished himself by publicly sharing his opinion that Mingo’s declarations were acts of fraud done on behalf of the coalition.
Dear Editor,
I read and I hear of electoral developments, and what is clear is that there is no country.
Dear Editor,
The GAWU has learnt that the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) has recently taken a decision not to honour claims for sickness or accident benefits made by sugar workers from the beginning of the year.
Dear Editor,
As a Grade Six teacher who has served the children of Guyana for more than twenty years, I am always concerned about the welfare of children.
Dear Editor,
My use of “contempt” in this correspondence’s context has to do with disrespect, deception, even the ability, the practice to despise.
Dear Editor,
It is clear as daylight on a bright sunny day, that David Granger, in power as a de facto President, with the full support of the police and army under his command, if not in absolute control, is most certainly complicit in an obvious and determined decision of APNU+AFC to remain in government regardless of the expressed will of our people in the 2nd March Elections.
Dear Editor,
The surprising increase in Covid-19 cases raises concern of an under detection of the virus.
Dear Editor,
When President David Granger and Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo along with Caricom and GECOM’s Chair signed the “aide memoire”, the document that stated the terms and conditions of the recount and verification of the votes cast in the ten electoral districts in the country, it was followed by a gazetted order that gives legality to the mandate of the recount process.
Dear Editor,
It was the prestigious ‘legitimate interlocutor ‘. Now it seems it too has been banished with others.
