Dirty water coming through Stevedore taps

Dear Editor,

We, the mothers, grandmothers and aunts of Stevedore Housing Scheme demand that Guyana Water Inc take urgent steps to provide us with clean water.

For about four months, we have been enduring the following conditions:

The water coming through our taps is always very discoloured (rusty) forcing us to let the water run for 15-20 minutes before using it.

We are paying for this dirty water to run, but meanwhile GWI is saying that people are wasting water!
We demand action!

Yours faithfully,
Johnell Roach

Rhunda Griffith
Shawndelle De Cruz
Donna Burnett,

Editor’s note

We are sending a copy of this letter to the CEO of Guyana Water Inc, Mr Karan Singh, for any comments he may wish to make.

Maybe Mr. Karan Singh should open an outlet to sell water there.

Getting into the bottled water business was soooo stupid. The Guyana Water Inc could use the money wasted on opening an outlet to sell water, to help fix this problem.
