Good Hope NDC not giving me letter so property could be transferred
Dear Editor,
I have been subject to frustration and stress. The reason is that I asked the Good Hope/Pomona Neighbourhood Democratic Council for a letter stating that all taxes has been paid to date to Lot Section ‘G’ Number 27 of Huis’T Dieren Essequibo Coast. And to date none has come forward.
From since 4.9.08, I went to the council meeting and was told that the next day it would be available. But none has reached so far and I went back and asked again and was told the Chairman was in Georgetown and don’t know when he would return to sign the letter and when it is signed the overseer would send it with the voucher.
I would like the President to know that the next trip that he takes to New York I would not leave my job, or house to come and hear about Guyana’s Grow More Food campaign or investing in Guyana. I am a resident of the USA, also a resident of Trinidad and Tobago. The property that I am asking for is in my mother’s name.
I just want that letter, so that a transfer could take place in my name and the authorized lawyer could start preparing the papers for my transport.
I have two more weeks to put things in place, and if this cannot happen well then I would pack and move back to the USA and Trinidad and be out of stress.
Yours faithfully,
Rudolph Raghubar

on October 11th, 2008 4:02 pmVery tricky . It does not take Sherlock Holmes to deduce something odd here. The case in question. Taxes paid, but no tax paper. But,taxes, meaning tax money, paid to whom? The key to solving this case? Find out who collected the taxes, and why no receipt was given as paid in full. Elementary. The money is in someone’s pocket.

Has he thought about getting a lawyer to help with this matter?.

In reply to the above comment on October 11th, 2008 11:16 pm:This chicannery is also happening in Berbice. However one with a twist. made a difference.A guy built an attachment on to his mother’s house, basically a room, only to receive a tax bill in the mail saying he owed the town council a certain amount.Mind you,he had no lot number,no survey,no transport, but he was billed.Another scam going on.
