Bandits take away cash from Pizza Hut

Two bandits on Monday night held a cashier of Pizza Hut at gunpoint and escaped with a quantity of cash.
Police in a statement said that the men approached the Vlissengen Road fast food outlet located at Barima Avenue, Georgetown just before 11 pm. Investigations revealed that one of the men who  had a handgun, entered and held cashier Nicola Gibson at gunpoint and took away $120,000 in cash and then escaped.

Police said investigations are continuing.

Yesterday the manager of the outlet directed all questions to the general manager who was not at work at the time.

You people disgust me. Instead of condemning crime you see this as an opportunity to make fun.

How dare you say such crap, that cashier happens to be my cousin and it is very heartbreaking to be reading the newspaper and see that it is a relative of yours been held at gunpoint, this is not the first time that my cousin has been held at gun point at that pizza hut location, it was very traumatic for her the first time, i can’t even imagine what she is going through right now, she has two children to provide for and all she is doing is working honestly to provide for them and this nonsense happens and that’s what you have to say “thoughts of collaboration” that could of been your sister, mother, wife, aunt, friend, cousin…. i bet you would not be saying such foolishness. I am in a state of shock, knowing that I am not even there to comfort her. Next time think before you act.

The guys were wrong for making jokes about the robbery, but crimes have become such an every-minute thing in Guyana, that this robbery seems like no big deal to some folks. georgiaonmymind, dont take the comments personally, I’m sure it wasn’t meant to be offensive.

I’m guessing that soon security services in Guyana will have to provide their guards with AK-47s and grenades in order to battle the thieves running around.
