Bartica taxi driver on carnal knowledge charge

Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court remanded to prison a taxi driver who is accused of having carnal knowledge of a girl.

Twenty-eight-year-old Shawn Jupitor of 104 3rd Avenue, Bartica, who was charged with having carnal knowledge of a girl between the age of 15 and 16 years without her consent, was not required to plead to the indictable charge.

It is alleged that on October 2, at 7th Avenue Bartica, Jupitor had carnal knowledge of the girl and later locked her in his car.

Magistrate Robertson ordered that Jupitor be remanded to prison and that he appear at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on October 29.

we must first wonder if the youngster had agreed to that encounter. You see some of these young girls fall for guys with a ride, but i agree she is under the age of consent.Dont go too hard on the guy.

I understand your point but it doesn’t make it right….some of these guys use material stuff to lure young women too so it goes both ways.

There’s something definitely wrong with a society when you have young men and women not respectful of each other —:(

You crazy? this man commit rape and held the young girl against her will. How can this young teenager consent to sex? tell me how? It seems those who have symphaty for the criminal should also go to jail for life.

Jail these guys –make them know that is not ok to prey on these innocent souls .Let them find a woman over 18 yrs somehow and have their fun .

Some of these perverts know that the girls are under age but they prefer ‘two children at fourteen years each’ than one woman at twenty-eight years! When caught and convicted, the judge should impose a sentence that reflects the age of the victim. In this case, sentence him to fifteen and half years!! This type of offense is almost a daily happening in Guyana. It appears that there are so many perverts preying on children. Perhaps some of these kids are needy and do not mind going with these fleas but the onus is on the adult to do the right thing. Whatever happened to women of the night. Go find a few!!!
