Corentyne man remanded over ganja trafficking at Mahdia

A 43-year-old man who allegedly had in his possession a quantity of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking was remanded to prison on Tuesday when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Elvis Archer of Corentyne pleaded not guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

It is alleged that on October 4 at Arcado, Mahdia, Archer was found with 49 grammes of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The magistrate ordered that Archer be remanded to prison and  return to court on
October 14.

    Could’nt they just give him a fine and let him go the prisions are over crowded why remand him for such, when they have others with more serious charges are set free.

    Was just to change the savory of the story!! I do have a bottle with about 35 different leaves and barks and roots, including ganja, filled with rum. One snap-glass, puts the ears red-hot. Was good getting a bottle for you My Brother!!

    That’s y guyana is how it is, u go to jail for the small things and de major crime go unsolve. Prisoners walking de street wen they shoulda been lock up .man dies in police custody , coke and guns run de streetof gt. and a man refuse bail for weed . Wow wat a mess this man should of granted bail ,its not rite wat he did,but he should a get bail.
