Jewellery thief also took pix of private parts with camera
-court hears
A twenty-two-year-old man who allegedly broke and entered the home of a woman, stole a quantity of gold jewellery and took pornographic pictures of himself with her camera was remanded to prison on Friday.
Junior Park of 59 Norton Street, Lodge, pleaded not guilty to the charge of break and enter and larceny when it was read to him by Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
It is alleged that on September 26, at Omadell Charles’ Princes Street home, Park stole a quantity of gold jewellery and a digital camera totalling $391, 000 in value.
Charles who was also present in court explained that on the day in question she had secured her home and left to go out but decided to return after she had walked a few corners.
Later that afternoon a friend visited her and when she turned the door knob it fell out. Charles said she had not taken it for anything serious.
She said that later that day her mother also visited her wearing a mismatched pair of earrings and she had then gone to her jewellery box in search of a pair when she discovered all her gold jewellery and the camera missing.
She said that she raised an alarm and some neighbours who heard her lamentations informed her that they had seen Park enter her home.
Charles went on to say that she later made a report to the police station about the incident. She said that the police apprehended Park sometime later and a search was conducted at his home where he showed them the chains hidden in his pillow and said that a girl had the camera.
Charles further stated that after she had received a call from the police that Park was arrested she identified the jewellery as hers and that it was while reviewing the recent pictures taken by the camera that she stumbled upon Park’s pictures.
“He did well dress with my jewellery” said Charles and added that Park had taken several pictures of his private parts.
However Park’s lawyer, Mohamed Zafar stated that another person was also arrested for the crime and that some of the other jewellery was given to the police from the said person but the prosecution stated that no such person existed.
Magistrate Robertson-Ogle then ordered that Park be remanded to prison and that he appear again in court on October 10.

on October 6th, 2008 11:32 amNah I believe that he should have been bailed because he admitted to the crime and she got most of her belongings back. At his age his hermones are still hot… so to speak and i believe that this was the reason why he took those pics.. We must remember that we have young males are families who may 1 day end up in a position as such therefore we must be leanient towards the position of the pics in the camera. The break and enter allegation I am against he should not have did that even if it was him who did it. The neighbours said they saw him but they have no hard evidence that will show this young man entering the house .. do they? remember words id wind!!

In reply to the above comment on October 12th, 2008 4:34 pm:I can’t believe that you would condone such a sick thing. It had nothing to do with his hormones and everything to do with mockery of the person whose property he stole.
He should be made to face the music(i.e denied bail) so he can reflect on his stupidity and learn not to touch things that do not belong to him.

on October 6th, 2008 2:12 pmAppears as though the guy was smart enough to photograph himself with the jewellery on. ‘ “He did well dress with my jewellery” said Charles and added that Park had taken several pictures of his private parts.’

on October 11th, 2008 7:56 pmHey! don’t beat up ON the guy. He took the pictures in the privacy of his home even though the camera did not belong to him. He is not being charged for taking the pictures of his private parts but with the charge of break and enter and larceny. What people do in the privacy of their home is their business.
