Robbery with violence accused refused bail
Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle on Monday remanded a 36-year-old man, who allegedly robbed a man of $150,000 in cash and other items, when he appeared before the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Rudolph Mattis of 109 Best Village, West Coast Demerara was not required to plead to the charge of robbery with violence. He was also charged with simple larceny.
It is alleged that on July 18, Mattis robbed Daniel Nelson of $150,000 in cash and other items and immediately, before or after used personal violence. Further, it is alleged that on the same date he stole a CD player worth $45,000 from Alfrain Chapman.
Mattis was refused bail and both matters will continue on July 31 in Court Five.
