What the people say…

Do you eat healthy foods? Do you pay attention to whether foods are low in fat and sugar? Why/Why not? We asked the man/woman in the street these questions and here is what they had to say:

‘I eat anything. I believe that healthy foods are like fruits and vegetables and I believe that eating them is a choice. If you want to eat healthy then eating home-cooked meals is the way to go. I prefer that to the restaurant food because it is the best. I don’t really pay attention or check on the foods low in fat and low in sugar. As long as it’s a home cooked meal, I am ok.’

‘Yes I eat healthy. Healthy foods are like vegetables. I eat that as often as I can and I pay particular attention to foods with fats and sugars because foods with that are not healthy. I think that eating healthy foods ensures that you have a longer and healthier life.’

‘Yes I eat healthy foods, especially a lot of greens. I am a vegetarian. I have to be this way because I had a heart problem and I was advised to become a vegetarian. Eating lots of vegetables and fish is very important because they are very nutritious. Healthy foods give you a lot of energy and are good for you, especially when you have passed the age of 40. I would advise persons younger than that to start eating healthy foods from now so that their body can benefit later. Persons who eat healthy foods to me look younger. I always pay special attention to low fat and low sugar.’

I eat healthy because I want to live until I am 80 years old. My grandmother lived until she was 96 because she was eating healthy. She used to eat foods fresh from the farm. I think that eating healthy foods helps to keep you fit and looker younger.’

‘No I don’t eat healthy foods because I don’t have the time. Eating healthy foods means eating a balanced diet every day. Eating these foods reduces your chances of picking up bacterial infections. I believe that it is important to eat healthy. I would eat healthy foods occasionally. I don’t get to eat them on a regular basis. Eating healthier is something that I have been thinking about for a while and I will try to make this a New Year resolution.’

‘Yes I do eat healthy. Healthy foods are foods that are nutritious to the body. Foods with protein, vitamins, minerals and a little carbohydrates. I try to eat these healthy foods every day but sometimes it’s the unhealthy foods that are readily available. I pay special attention to low fat and sugar because these things are not good for your health. We need to eat healthy foods if we want to have long, healthy lives. Eating healthy foods help us to look younger too.’

‘Yes I eat healthy foods such as greens. I eat these foods every other day and I think that they are very important. When you eat healthy foods you cannot pick up diseases fast. These foods also make you look younger and keep your body fit and active. I don’t pay much attention to low fat and low sugar.’

‘Healthy foods are those foods that make up a balanced diet including vegetables. I don’t eat healthy and I don’t have a particular reason for not doing so. You don’t think about healthy foods when you are hungry. I don’t use too many foods with sweet. I do think that it is important to eat healthy foods because it helps to keep you fit and healthy. Healthy foods also give you energy, keep your skin clean and prevent you from losing your teeth.’

‘I try to cut down on the fatty foods and use a lot of steamed vegetables. I do eat healthy but not often. Healthy food is good for you because it takes care of your body and will help to keep it in good order. Eating healthy also cuts your chances of getting diseases and also makes you look younger. I pay a lot of attention to low fat and sugar because they help to contribute to high blood pressure, diabetes and other diseases.’
