Bandits rob Strathspey vendor

Two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, on Friday night robbed Elana Bowman of Strathspey Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara while she was at home with her daughter.

According to the Police in a press release on Saturday, the men took from the woman two pairs of gold earrings, four gold finger rings, one cell phone and $2,000. Police said that the suspects entered the premises at around 8.30 pm through a door that was open at the time. The men held up the victim after which they proceeded to rob her and then made good their escape. Investigations are continuing.

And the Police are reporting that at around 11.25 on Friday night, ranks from the E&F Divisions in the Interior were on a mobile patrol in Tabatinga, Central Rupununi, Lethem when they stopped and searched two men and found a .38 Special Smith & Wesson on one of the suspects along with five matching rounds. Police said that they were arrested and are in custody as investigations continue.
