Elderly man robbed at gunpoint on Thomas Street

An armed bandit robbed an elderly man at gunpoint on Friday at Thomas Street, Cummingsburg of a quantity of gold jewellery and cash.

According to the police, around 9.30 am, Roy Lacon, 63, a resident of South Ruimveldt Park was walking south along Thomas Street. As he approached Middle Street, the suspect rode up on a motorcycle, held him up with a handgun then proceeded to rob him of a $16,000 gold chain, a gold band worth $16,000, $1,000 and US$4.

The police are investigating.
