Gold miner robbed of $205,000 chains

A 34-year-old gold miner was last Thursday robbed of his gold chains valued over $200,000 by two motorcycle bandits, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

A police statement said that about 10:30 am on Thursday, Warren France of Industry, East Coast Demerara was robbed of his two gold chains valued $205,000 by the men.

Investigations have revealed that France was an occupant in a taxi, seated in the front passenger seat. As the taxi was proceeding north on the Industry Crown Dam access road, it came to a stop on reaching the railway line main road and the two suspects who were on a motorcycle rode up to the passenger’s side and robbed France.
