Teen denies robbing employer of $250,000

A teenaged boy who with another person allegedly robbed his employer of a quarter million dollars was yesterday placed on $25,000 bail by Magistrate Gordon Gilhuys at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Ramdat Nandan, 19, pleaded not guilty to the break and enter and larceny charge.

It is alleged that on January 3 at Georgetown Nandan together with an accomplice broke and entered the stationery store of Sahadeo Dukiran and stole $250,000.

Police Posecutor Maxine Graham told the court that the two men admitted taking the money and they gave the police some of the cash. Nandan reportedly handed over $150,000 but the other person only had $75,000.

Nandan will return to court on February 12.
