Fifteen-year-old remanded over gunpoint robbery charges

It was no child’s play when a 15-year-old boy allegedly robbed two persons at gunpoint of silver jewellery and was remanded to prison by Magistrate Gordon Gilhuys.

The 15-year-old boy was not required to plead to robbery under arms and robbery with violence charges when he appeared yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on December 25 at Princes Street, Georgetown, while he was armed with a gun he robbed Samuel Coates of two silver chains and one gold chain valued $27,000. On January 4 at Charlestown he allegedly robbed Jamaine Williams of a silver chain and a hat valued at $9,000 and made use of personal violence.

His matter was transferred to Court Six on January 29.
