Bovell rape PI opens

The Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the rape of a woman committed by a notorious and now dead wanted man for which his father is also charged commenced yesterday at the Wales Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.

Cyril Bovell is charged in relation to a rape committed by his son Neil Bovell who was shot dead by police last year.

Constable Forde who is stationed at the La Grange Police Station and attached to the Traffic Department testified at the preliminary inquiry yesterday.

It is alleged that Cyril Bovell knowing that Neil Bovell had carnal knowledge of a woman in September 2005 did on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 receive, relieve, comfort and assist the said Neil Bovell.

Bovell is being represented by attorney-at-law Glen Hanoman. The PI will continue on March 1 at the Wales Magistrate’s Court.
