Sophia man remanded over ganja trafficking at Wisroc

A 26-year-old Sophia man who was allegedly found at Wisroc, Linden with a quantity of ganja by members of the Police Narcotics Branch was remanded to prison by Acting Chief Magistrate Cecil Sullivan.

Julian Napp of Lot 1 Guyhoc Park, Sophia denied a charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

It is alleged that on Thursday at Wisroc backlands, Linden, Napp had two kilogrammes of cannabis sativa for the purpose of trafficking.

Reports are that around 12:10 pm the ranks from the Eve Leary branch were walking in the backlands when they saw the defendant tending to some plants on a cultivated piece of land. There was also a shack on the land. Ranks held the man and proceeded to the shack where they reportedly found the cannabis during a search. Napp was told of the offence committed and arrested.

He has to return to the Christianburg Magistrate’s Court on February 20.
