New quarters for head teacher at Clemwood

The Region Three Regional Administration Office says the head teacher’s quarters at Clemwood, Upper Demerara River will soon be reconstructed.

Officials, including Regional Chairman Julius Faerber, Regional Executive Officer Nandlall Ramkissoon and Regional Engineer Patiram Ramlall made this announcement on Saturday during a visit to the area.

Faerber said the wooden structure is beyond repair and following discussions with the head teacher and residents it was agreed that a single flat, two-bedroom, concrete structure would be erected. He assured the residents that the new building would be completed before the September school term begins. Residents also called for an extension to the primary school building and they were told that the possibility would be explored during the year.

Meanwhile, residents of Santa Mission, another settlement which falls under the purview of the Region Three administration, are advocating for a new concrete structure to house the Santa Mission primary school. The new proposal of an 80′ x 30′, two-storey, concrete structure is engaging the administration’s attention.
