Campbellville `A’ and Sophia `B’ will clash in the final of the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company’s Camptown Inter-Block Super 6 Football Tournament today at the Campbellville Community Centre ground, at 4pm.
Campbellville `A’ booked their place in the final by trashing their `B’ team counterparts 5-1 in a semi-final fixture on Friday, thereby sounding an ominous warning to Sophia `B’ ahead of today’s final.
Custodian Richie Richards, in addition to Reshawn Sandiford, Kwame LaFleur, Roger Singh, Ovid Pollard and Edgar DeVieria, all of whom netted one goal each in Campbellville’s `A’ team 5-1 win against the `B’ team, form the core of their lineup.
Leading the response for Sophia `B’ are Shemroy Arthur, Mark Hudson, Mark Carter, Godfrey Greaves, Quincy Williams and Sean Heywood.
Meanwhile, with teams almost equally balanced offensively and defensively, football fans and supporters can expect an afternoon of entertaining displays by both lineups.
The winners of today’s final will receive $60,000, while second the place team gets $30,000.
DeSinco Trading, the Guyana Football Federation and Knight Riders Bus Service are other major contributors to the tournament.
