Guyana to sign convention on rights of disabled

Guyana will sign on to the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Cabinet Secretary Dr Roger Luncheon has said.

Luncheon told members of the media recently that the decision was made at Cabinet’s last meeting.

He said the UN convention had opened to signatures at UN Headquarters, New York, USA and was intended to promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities.
