Mother, son and friend robbed in Annandale home at gunpoint

A mother, her son and a friend were on Sunday attacked and robbed by two bandits at her Annandale South, East Coast Demerara home.

The men who were armed took away a quantity of jewellery, a DVD player, a camera, three cell phones, $16,000 cash and two mountain climber bicycles which they rode off with in their escape.

Police in a statement said that at about 7:20 pm housewife Anita Mahadeo, along with her son Talim Mohamed and salesman Hazrat Ali, were attacked and robbed by two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm and the other a knife, at Mahadeo’s home at Annandale South, ECD.

The woman and Ali were chatting in front of the house when the two men came up on foot and held them at gunpoint. They were taken into the house where Mohamed was also held up.
