Concerned NBS members to request another Special General Meeting

The concerned group of New Building Society (NBS) members is adamant that many of its questions remain unanswered and it is now preparing another requisition document asking the board to hold another Special General Meeting.

Committee member Hazel Sanmoogan in a brief comment to this newspaper yesterday said members were currently finalizing signatures for the document which is also in its final stages. She said that the committee would submit the document shortly.

The concerned group feels that its concerns were brushed aside by board members who addressed the Special General Meeting called on September 8.

At the September 8 meeting Chairman of the Board Moen McDoom took members through a detailed explanation of the events leading up to the $69M fraud committed on an account at the society and NBS has maintained that it has answered all the questions.

Three of the society’s former top managers are currently before the courts charged with conspiracy to defraud.

They were fired for gross misconduct and negligence.
