Mining camp cook stabbed to death

A cook at a mining camp in the North West District was on Sunday knifed to death by another man, police yesterday said in a statement.

The police provided no details as to the motive for the death of 55-year-old Hubert Albert of Port Kaituma, NWD.

In a statement the police said they were investigating the murder of Albert which occurred around 8:30 am on Sunday at White Creek backdam, NWD. Investigations revealed that Albert was cooking in a camp, when the male suspect entered, picked up a knife and inflicted several stab wounds about his body. The suspect was arrested and the alleged murder weapon recovered.
