‘Toro’ refused bail on armed robbery charge

Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday remanded to prison a man accused of robbing another man of items valued at $22,000 at gunpoint.

Gregory St John called ‘Toro’ of 22 Ruimveldt Public Road was not required to plead to a charge of robbery under arms and was remanded to prison by the magistrate.

It is alleged that on November 5 at Georgetown, while using a gun, he robbed Rudolph Barry of a BMX bicycle, a Motorola cellular phone and a Casio wristwatch all to the value of $22,000. Following police investigations he was arrested and charged. St John will return to court on November 30 at Court Five.
