Man on life support after Agricola accident

A 34-year-old man is in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the Agricola, East Bank Demerara public road yesterday.

Tony Mangra of 25 Agricola Public Road is on a life support machine at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the medical institution suffering from head injuries.

According to reports, Mangra was crossing the public road at Agricola when he was hit by the vehicle yesterday afternoon. He was picked up and rushed to the GPH where he was admitted into the open ward. However, he later took a turn for the worse and was transferred to the ICU and hooked up to the life support machine.

Police took the driver of the vehicle into custody.
