Two more detained over Mahaicony death

Police yesterday said that two other men were arrested on Saturday in connection with the death of Kazim Ali called ‘Pirate’ whose body was discovered in the Mahaicony Creek on Friday.

A police release also said that a boat and engine were seized as the investigation continues.

Another man was arrested on Friday afternoon. According to reports the body of Ali, who lived at Micobie Village, Mahaicony Creek, was found in the creek and his head bore what appeared to be a chop mark.

The man who was initially arrested is said to be known to Ali and they had reportedly gone to catch birds up the creek.

The man is said to have told the police that another boat bumped into their canoe at Crab Crop, Mahaicony and Ali fell into the water. His body was later discovered after a search party was formed.
