Man on trial over Cathedra murder

High Court Judge Claudette La Bennett is currently presiding in the case of a man who is accused of killing his partner nearly three years ago at D’Urban Street.

Royston Alfred is on trial for killing Cathedra Parris called `Chiney’ sometime between March 12 and 13, 2004 at her D’Urban Street, Werk-en-Rust apartment.

Parris was found with a knife in her neck on the morning of March 13.

The prosecution led by state counsel, Faith McGusty is contending that Alfred had threatened Paris on numerous occasions prior to her death and that sometime during the period mentioned he killed her.

The trial is continuing.
