Kerik’s appointment was made without regard to due process

Thanks for reprinting the article by Tony Best of the Barbados Nation in our embattled newspaper. It sent me on a rare roaming, and there was a headline ‘What a Guyana’ staring me in the face from the New York Post – an article by Andy Soltis with a January 27, 2007 dateline.

It leads with the statement that Kerik, who failed a nomination in his homeland as Head of Homeland Security “will get to be a presidential adviser after all.” The article reports our President, Jagdeo, had lunch with Kerik in Manhattan. Kerik says he expected to have a chat for about fifteen to twenty minutes, but it turned out to be over three hours. He described Jagdeo as “a brilliant man” and of course our President was ‘very impressed’ with Kerik’s New York resum
