The Guyana Squash Association (GSA) continued their Toucan Industries junior squash tournament on Friday evening with interesting matches being played.
The matches were played for the three best of five in the A-D category and two best of three in the E category.
In Category ‘A’ Oliver Kear defeated Raphel De Groot 10-9, 9-8 and 9-5, Ashley Khalil lost to Keisha Jeffrey 9-0, 9-2, 8-10, 9-1, Alex Arjoon defeated Javed Rahaman 9-1, 9-3, 9-3 and Peter De Groot defeated Deje Dias 9-4, 9-3 and 9-4.
In the category B play-off Robert Hiscock lost to Jason Khalil 9-1, 10-9, 2-9 and 9-2, Joshua Abdool defeated Daina King 8-10, 9-3, 9-0, 9-0. In the C category matches Dominica Dias lost to Victoria Arjoon 9-2, 9-2, 1-9, 5-9 and 10-8, Kayla Jeffrey defeated Alysa Xavier 9-3, 9-3, 9-2, Nicholas Narain defeated Mary Fung-A-Fat 9-3, 9-6, 2-9 and 9-1. In the D category play-off Abishek Singh won against Ashley De Groot 9-7, 9-2, 9-3, Nyron Joseph defeated Steven Xavier 3-0 and Jean Claude Jeffrey 9-3, 9-2, 9-2 defeated Lee Fung-A-Fat.
In the E category Brandon Bento received a walkover from Rebecca Xavier.
Meanwhile, in Thursday night’s play-off Lee Fung-A-Fat, Abishek Singh, Shaquille Bowen, Jean Claude Jeffrey, Nicholas Narain, Kayla Jeffrey, Victoria Arjune, Joshua Abdool and Alex Arjoon, all defeated their opponents 3-0.
Keisha Jeffrey defeated Daina King 3-2 and Peter De Groot defeated Raphel De Groot 3-2. Ashley Khalil and Oliver Kear defeated Robert Hiscock and Javed Rahaman 3-1.
