Regular congestion at this junction

Dear Editor,

I have been caught up several mornings in the congestion that occurs at the junction west of David and Sheriff streets.

This occurs because at the arrow that allows traffic to flow north into Sheriff Street the space allocated is too narrow, so traffic that is east bound and those heading south into Sheriff Street are all caught up in one lane as the line extends.

Minibuses, which ply the East Coast and Kitty/ Campbelville routes, often stop at the said junction to put off commuters, which makes it difficult for drivers when they get green to divert and proceed.

However, I believe there can be a simple solution to this problem. Refurbish the old David Street road for north-bound traffic, this will allow easy access to east and south bound.

Yours faithfully,
