The PPP try to convey the impression that they were completely innocent

Dear Editor,

The General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party has again referred to the episode related to the Abraham murders. However, he failed to answer certain important questions e.g. is it not true that the burning of canes and widespread violence followed in the wake of a PPP led hurricane of protests? Instead the letter launched into a familiar line of propaganda about the horrific violence unleashed in the 1960s by the People’s National Congress and United Force.

Later he rejects the call for a truth commission.

Many incidents of violence were committed against PNC supporters or were against the interests of the PNC and the UF.

If Mr Ramotar does not have the facts on these he should seek information and stop trying to convey the impression that the PPP were innocent angels plundered by those bad other people.

Only the truth will set us free to move on to peace and respect for one another.

That is all I seek and ask for.

Yours faithfully,

Hamilton Green, JP
