Bush Lot Sports Club battles with New York ACS in Twenty20 match

Bush Lot Sports Club cricketers will throw down the gauntlet to the touring American Cricket Society cricket team in a feature Twenty20 match today.

The teams will battle for a trophy donated by Bush Lot Sports Club manager Abel Seetaram.

The trophy was handed over yesterday in a simple ceremony at the Regency Suite, Hadfield Street.

Former national player, Zamin Amin, yesterday received the trophy of appreciation from Bush Lot Sports Club (BSC) manager Seetaram.

The BSC and the ACS teams will clash from 11am today at the Bush Lot Sports Club ground.

The ACS team includes Amin (captain), Karan Ganesh (Vice Captain), Sayweed Amin, Sunesh Wazid, Kumar Ramsabad, Terry Hastoo, Sase Singh, Harriman Joseph, Toney Roberts, Freddie Hastoo and Clive Hastoo.

The BSC team will come from: Salim Satar (captain), R. Ogle (Vice Captain), T. Harricharran, K. Ramoo, K. Mentore, D. Persaud, A. Khan, C. Nurse, K. Fraser, T. Healy, S. Rahim and D. Ross.

According to the ACS, the society is a New York/New Jersey composition and has been around for over 10 years. Former Guyana star Amin says that he hopes to have a good game at the Bush Lot ground and to entertain the spectators.

The BSC is over 20 years old and has produced some cricketers who have gone on to represent Berbice and Guyana. The club said that they do look forward to the match and to continue playing competitive cricket in Berbice.
