A press release said that the match was played in honour of the late Eric Lewis, an outstanding resident of Rose Hall town, who was a contractor and community worker and it was sponsored by his sons Joseph and Peter Lewis, both of whom are businessmen.

Club secretary Hilbert Foster at the presentation ceremony urged the young cricketers to be disciplined at all times and to work as hard as the late Eric Lewis did in his lifetime. He challenged them to stay in school and obtain an education.

And sponsor Joseph Lewis also noted that cricket was his father’s passion and called on the players to take advantage of the opportunity presented to them and to strive to become the next West Indies test players.
