Sherriff Jewellery Twenty/20 cricket continues today

The West Demerara Zone of the Sheriff Jewellery Twenty/20 cricket tournament has reached the knockout stage with three matches scheduled for this weekend.

Cornelia Ida Cricket Club was scheduled to meet Cultural Cricket Club yesterday at Cornelia Ida ground, Mc Gill Sports Club faces Players Cricket Club at Canal Number Two ground today, the umpires are Mark Ernest and Hussein starting at 10:00 hours.

At 14:00 hours, Rangers Sports Club will do battle with Leonora Youths at Den Amstel with Horence Isaacs and Arnold Padmore calling play.

The teams advancing from this stage will secure places in the overall quarter-finals which will feature teams from East Coast Demerara and East Bank Demerara.

The tournament organized by the Muslim Youth League (MYL) is sponsored by Sheriff Jewellery to the tune of $2.5 million dollars.
