Two goals each from Sheldon Gurrick and Keoma Gravesande paced Pele to a 4-0 drubbing of Police on Sunday at the Georgetown Football Club ground as play in the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Cellink Plus Premier league competition.

Gurrick netted his first goal after 16 minutes and completed the doubleseven minutes later while Gravesande scored in the 67th and 72nd minutes.

The win places Pele at the top of the points standings with 18 points after four wins and six draws.

Fuuta Conquerors are in second place on 17 points and Alpha United third on 16.

In the feature match, Western Tigers halted their losing streak by holding the Guyana Defence Force to a 2-2 draw.

Eusi Phillips equalized in the seventh minute for GDF who were trailing 0-1 after a third minute strike by Edison Gomes.

GDF went ahead in the 53rd minute through Seon Brewley but Devon Millington scored the equalizer in the 71st minute.

Both teams earned one point which carries the GDF team to 11 points and Western Tigers to 13.

Meanwhile, play in the GFA Division One League continues today with UG taking on Thomas United at the UG ground while Black Pearl will come up against Uprising at the Tucville ground.
