Raymond Panday Memorial second-division cricket

Malteenoes Sports Club [MSC] inflicted a crushing innings defeat on Third Class when they squared off in the Raymond Panday Memorial second-division cricket competition over the weekend at the GYO ground.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, MSC compiled a formidable 303-5 declared through D. Narayan,123 [18x4s; 3x6s] and D. McEwan, 110 [18x4s; 2x6s]. E. Charles weighed in with 26 [3x4s].

Bowling for Third Class, C. Rambharose took 4-112, while A. Azeez chipped in with 1-44.

In their turn at the crease, Third Class closed their innings at 77-9, through the absence of one of their players.

Peter Persaud was the topscorer with 34 [5x4s; 2x6s], while Randy Knights weighed in with 21 [3x4s].

Bowling for Malteenoes, E. Charles bagged 4-21; D. Gravesande 3-15; and S. Duguid, 2-15.

Forced to follow on, Third Class fared even worse and were skittled out for 76. C. Rambharose topscored with 33 [3x4s; 1×6]; F. Azeez contributed 18 [2x4s] and A. Bernard, 15 [3x4s].

Bowling for MSC: D. Legay grabbed 3-4 from 2.2 overs; R. Franklyn, 2-11 from six and S. Sam, 2-15 from seven. MSC won by an innings and 150 runs.
