BCBC/Isaac Bissoon first-division competition

Assad Fudadin and Royston Crandon warmed up for the Inter County tournament which starts today with outstanding individual performances for Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar (RHTWSB) against Port Mourant on the first day of the Berbice Cricket Board/Isaac Bissoon three-day first division match against Port Mourant.

RHTWSB scored 349 all out on the first day of their third-round match at the Port Mourant Community Centre ground with Fudadin scoring an even century.

At PMCC ground, RHTWSB batting first after winning the toss, posted 349 all out as Fudadin struck an even 100 which was decorated with six fours and one six.

Crandon supported with 84 which included six fours and one six. The two posted 162 for the fourth wicket while Jason Sinclair contributed 51 (5×4).

Bowling for PMCC, Rajendra Bolo took 3-46 whilst there were two wickets each for Roopnarine Ramgobin (2-39) and Homchand Pooran (2-39).

PMCC will begin their first innings today the scheduled second day of the match.

Also performing outstandingly was former Berbice and Guyana all-rounder and National under-19 coach Hubern Evans who has the best bowling performance of the competition to date (7-30), bowling for Young Warriors in their match with Rose Hall Community Centre, whilst Berbice under-19 wicket keeper/batsman Anthony Bramble gave the selectors something to think about with an unbeaten 75 for his team Scotsburg United in their score of 98-2 in reply to Skeldon Community Centre’s 178 all out.

RHCC and Young Warriors locked in battle

At Cumberland, Canje, Young Warriors and Rose Hall Community Centre (RHCC) are locked in a tight battle after Young Warriors restricted RHCC to 231 and were 51-1. Evans took 7-30 to rout RHCC with Balram Samaroo (58), Sanjay Khan (31), Vishal Mohabir (28) and Daryl Narine (21) the only batsmen to offer resistance to Evans.

In reply, Young Warriors’ Gajanand Singh and Wahid Edwards are not out on 18 each.

West Berbice takes first innings from Police

At Bush Lot, West Berbice took first innings points from Police who were scuttled out for 130 after choosing to bat first upon winning the toss.

Imran Moakan, 43, was the principal scorer.

Bowling for West Berbice, leg-spinner Anil Solomon took 3-35 while fast bowler Colin Duke and off-spinner Salim Sattaur supported with 3-36 and 2-19 respectively.

West Berbice, in reply, reached 158-5 thanks mainly to Ralph Ogle’s 46 and 32 from Salim Sattaur.

Keith Fraser and Quesi Mentore are the not out batsmen on 40 and 18 respectively, whilst left arm spinner Jason Leitch (2-34) and fast bowler Jevaughn Stephens (2-48) are the wicket takers for Police.

Bermine set for first innings

lead over Blairmont

At Blairmont, the home team is set to lose first innings points to Bermine Sports Club. After taking first strike, Blairmont fell for 142 all out on a good batting wicket. Vejai Heeralall 35 and Hoolsaran Lalsa 30 were the main contributors for BCC as Kelon Henry bagged 3-26, while Jeremy Gordon and left-arm spinner Eugene La Fleur each ended with 3-30.

Bermine, in reply, were 111-2. Former Guyana under-19 opening batsman Anthony D’Andrade is unbeaten on 41 while Richard Fredericks made 30, the two posting 62 for the first wicket.

Skeldon and Scotsburg in keen tussle

At Skeldon, in a match up between Skeldon Community Centre and Scotsburg United, a keen tussle for first innings points is anticipated as Skeldon, who won the toss and chose to bat first made 178 all out to which Scotsburg are 98-2 in reply.

Neville Williams led the batting with 75 with support from Victor Pedro, who made 35.

James Hart grabbed 3-40 and Imran Jafferally 2-45 bowling for Scotsburg.

In Scotsburg innings of 98-2, former Berbice under-19 wicketkeeper batsman Anthony Bramble is unbeaten on 75.
